Modular Plate Carrier
Product Review (submitted on April 30, 2017):
I'm just a suburban dad. I don't go into harm's way, unless you count the chance of stepping on a lego in my kid's room. I wanted armor, especially after some bonehead representative from California introduced a bill to ban civilian armor. I have to keep my kid in legos and playstation games, so I bought steel plates and found this DTOM 6094 on sale. I was familiar with LBT stuff from other bits and pieces I picked up along the way, so I wasn't concerned that the carrier wouldn't be very high quality or efficiently laid out.
It fits well, distributes the heavy steel and various magazines and tools, is easy to get on and off, and looks pretty damn good. The stitching appears even and reinforced in stress areas, the load-bearing webbing is very uniform, the thinner steel plates don't slosh around in their pockets and it feels right riding up high on my torso.
I have no illusions about wearing it into battle or operating. My field of expertise is more hard hat than rifle plate. If you do work on a two-way range for a living, I think you should look very closely at this one. My gut feeling is that it won't let you down.
